The Department of Plant and Soil Science (PSS), Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas seeks applications for a tenure-track Rockwell endowed associate professor/professor in horticulture located at the Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. The successful candidate will provide leadership for existing research, teaching, and outreach engagement programs in horticulture. Interest in and extensive experience with controlled environments and plant production systems is highly desirable. The successful candidate for this 9-month, academic appointment will be expected to establish a grant-supported research program and contribute to the continuous advancement of teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in Horticulture. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with other departmental scientist (breeders, geneticists, molecular biologists, entomologists and soil scientists) as well as researcher from the department’s major partnering institutions, which includes Texas A&M AgriLife and USDA-ARS. The successful candidate is expected to excel in both research/scholarship and instruction by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in horticulture. The successful candidate will participate in undergraduate and graduate student advising. He/she is also expected to work with government and industry clientele and to provide services to the department, college, university, and community.
