Work Location: LSU AgCenter Department of Entomology, Baton Rouge, LA
Position Description: We are seeking an initiative-taking postdoctoral researcher to participate in a multi-disciplinary team of research and extension scientists working to enhance and improve a national clean foundation seed (CFS) program for sweetpotato. To meet the project goals, the successful candidate will work to develop best practices (BPs) for efficient CFS production in both the lab and greenhouse, develop new technological innovations to determine the presence of viruses and vectors in the field, and determine BPs that minimize virus inoculum and reinfection rates.
Qualification Requirements: PhD in Plant Pathology, Entomology, Horticulture, or related discipline. Experience in plant virology or plant virus vector epidemiology is preferred. Proven ability in diligent documentation, record-keeping, and reporting of experimental data is required. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to collaborate closely with other researchers in participating universities.
