Work Location: School of Renewable Natural Resources, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, La.
Position Description: Responsibilities will involve research activities related to the operation of a variety of wildlife capture, tagging, and tracking projects in Louisiana. The primary responsibility will be to provide field and laboratory support to current and future wildlife research projects evaluating population ecology, demography, disease ecology and movement dynamics on upland wildlife in collaboration with state and federal entities.
Qualification Requirements: B.S. in Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Ecology, or a closely related field. Preference will be given to those with 2-3 years of field experience. Previous experience capturing wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, and American woodcock is required. Familiarity and experience working with Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries personnel is preferred. Applicants should be able to work effectively with private landowners and land managers, state and federal biologists, undergraduate and graduate students, and must be capable of communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
