The department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences at Auburn University is seeking a candidate for the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow. This is a benefits eligible, non-tenure track position. The appointment is for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of a four year period depending on performance and funding availability.
The individual selected for this position will work in environmental nutrient management with a focus on understanding nutrient mineralization of animal manures, as well as their fate and transport in the environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Conducting laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments on manure mineralization; 2) operation of analytical instruments such as ICP-AES, Ion chromatography (IC), and UV-VIS, including quality control and quality assurance; 3) management and organization of data; 4) supervision of graduate students and undergraduate student workers; and 5) dissemination of research findings through presentations at field days, workshops, national conferences, and manuscript preparation for submission to peer reviewed journal articles.
The successful candidate is expected to be self-driven, independent, highly organized, and personable. Prior experience in field and laboratory settings is essential.
