The College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment (CFWE) at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level in silviculture and soils with an expected start date of January 1, 2023. This is a full time, tenure track, 9-month appointment with 45% research and 55% teaching responsibilities. The CFWE is a national leader for forestry, wildlife, natural resource management, geospatial and environmental informatics, and biomaterial and packaging education, research, and outreach. Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be expected to establish an extramurally funded, innovative research program focused on the use of contemporary and advanced silvicultural methods to improve forest management, aimed at improving site-specific prescriptions to serve a variety of ecosystem services. The candidate will use appropriate methods to address diverse forest management and sustainability issues that are relevant to private landowners. Applicants will also be expected to teach four undergraduate courses each year (Silviculture, Forest Soils, Forest Biology) and one graduate course in the applicant’s specialty, or another related course as needed by the curricula. Additional responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring graduate students and participating in college and university service.
