New Mexico State University (NMSU) Department of Animal & Range Sciences seeks a 12 month Assistant Professor of Animal Science. This position will be located at the Clayton Livestock Research Center located in Clayton, NM. The appointment will be 100% research. The successful applicant will focus on beef cattle production and health. Complimentary areas of interest may include feedlot nutrition, nutritional physiology and relationships between nutrition, animal health/immunology and growth physiology. Candidate must be able to relate research objectives to improvement in beef cattle health and production.
Position requires a Ph.D. (in hand by hire date) in Animal Science or closely related field with emphasis in beef cattle health, stress physiology, immunology, or nutrition/production. Demonstrated research experience in animal science with an emphasis in beef cattle health, stress physiology, immunology, or a closely related field.is also required. Postdoctoral experience in a related field is highly desired. A DVM degree in addition to a PhD would be considered beneficial.
