Lin's primary research involves the use of plants and genetic modified microbes for applications in the area of phytoremediation and bioremediation in agroforestry researches. Several modern chromatographic and DNA-based techniques have developed to evaluate the bioremediation capacity of a wide range of forages and woody species for reducing transport and enhancing sequestration and degradation of agrochemicals, veterinary pharmaceuticals, munitions explosives, and their degradation products in the vegetative buffer systems.
