Aligns with the University's research themes of Marine, Antarctic and Maritime and Environment, Resources and Sustainability. He has a diverse background in fisheries and marine ecology with over 80 peer-reviewed publications. His current research focuses on two main areas: anthropogenic impacts on marine systems with an emphasis on fishing and climate change; and developing options for transformational change in the way we use the marine domain, especially to address food security issues and sustainable livelihoods of coastal populations.
