I am engaged in the study of disease through various outlets and tools. I am a veterinary anatomic pathologist and provide diagnostic service through the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory. While the case load is highly varied, my main interest within this field is diagnosis and mechanisms of naturally occurring neurologic diseases. I also oversee the clinical pathology laboratory. In addition, I have a translational research program that uses cell and mouse models of the human neurodegenerative disease, Huntington’s disease. Our goal is to understand disease mechanisms and develop effective therapeutic approaches in mice. I am part of the Neuroscience Program at the University of Wyoming I teach within the Department of Veterinary Sciences and the Neuroscience Program.
