Expertise: My background is building research. I am trained as a physicist and specialize in low temperature physics. Therefore, working with buildings in a climate like Minnesota's is particularly fitting. For about 20 years I have conducted research into energy use in buildings, ventilation issues, and more recently, indoor air quality. I was founding editor of the Indoor Air Journal and am now chair of ASHRAE's Standard 62.2 Ventilation Committee.
